Selling Digital Downloads with Google Checkout

A few months ago, selling a digital good required going through a specialized vendor or building your own e-commerce system. However, Google Checkout recently introduced the ability to sell digital products.

Here’s how to get started:

1. Sign-in to Google Checkout.

2. On the top navigation, click on ‘Tools’ and then click on ‘Buy Now buttons’ in the left side.

3. In the form that appears, change the ‘Describe your item’ to ‘Digital Good.’

4. Enter in the rest of the information regarding your product and then click on ‘Create Button code’

How To: Create a Facebook Page

aHaving a Facebook page for your business is important. It helps you gain visibility and more importantly, places you with your customers. Facebook boasts an impressive 350 million members. There’s a good chance that amongst those millions, there are people that are interested in hearing what you have to say and purchasing what you have to offer. In this post, we’ll create a Facebook page for your business.

1. Go to http://www.facebook.com/page

2. Define the type of business and give your page a name. Make sure that the name of this page is similar to the name of your business.

3. You’ll then be presented with a Page that looks very similar to your personal profile. Click on the big question mark and upload a logo of your company.

4. Once you’ve uploaded an image, click on ‘Edit Page.’

5. On this new page, you can modify various options. Browse through each of the different options and change or remove them as necessary. For example, if you don’t plan on holding events, simply click on ‘Remove Application.’

6. Once you’re comfortable with the way your new page looks, go back to the main page and click on ‘Suggest to Friends,’ and invite colleagues and customers to ‘become a fan’ of your business.
